Pedestrianised area in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Massive highway in Buenos Aires

Bicycle hire in the San Telmo area of Buenos Aires

Only improvised cycle parking at the brand new Museum of Latinamerican Art in Buenos Aires.

This might look like a cycle track crossing the side-road, but in fact it's only used by joggers in this prosperous neighbourhood. There's a clear need for a cycle track alongside this hectic car-dominated artery.

Despite appearances, this is not a cycle track crossing the side road, though one is badly needed on this traffic-dominated one-way avenue (photo taken on a Saturday morning - it's usually much busier).

Buenos Aires suburban trains carry bikes at all times, in an area marked 'fourgon' (and using the disabled gates to the platforms).

Cyclists use pedestrian crossings to get across major avenues - a standard survival tactic in Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires has essentially no cycle parking (and lots of crime), so people lock their bikes to anything they can find - these are barriers to keep a disabled crossing clear.

If this is meant to be a cycle lane, it's one of the worst I've seen.

No signage, but I assume cyclists can use this fine bridge in Buenos Aires

Improvised cycle parking at the Fine Arts Museum, Buenos Aires - there's none provided.

New upmarket shopping centre in Buenos Aires, with a long lane for taxis and cars to drop off, but only improvised bike parking facilities.
