This is the eastern side of the Carter Bridge over the railway.

The white bollard in the middle of the cycleway is the only bollard in the cycleway on this side of the bridge and is presumably needed to stop people driving cars onto the bridge.

This is pretty good: white bollards are easier to spot, and they are round and plastic-coated which makes then slightly more forgiving if hit. There's a blob of paint on the ground to help people see it. The gaps on each side are exactly 1.5m.

The junction with Devonshire Road is quite close, but the bollards are far enough away to allow people turning towards the bridge to complete their turn before they meet the bollard.
