[Image taken 13.2.23] Former Bootham Park Hospital, York. The gate marked is kept closed. There are no warnings or clues to people crossing in front of this newly live light-controlled exit to expect people on cycles or scooters, or people in mobility scooters or wheelchairs, to come from their right (inside the Park) or from their left (over the junction from St Mary's). Pedestrians on Bootham approaching from the left (eastern side) and heading from the park either follow the edge of the gate post and walk straight into the trajectory of people waiting to set off when they get the green cycle light, already riding because they have just set off as the light turned green or moving because the light was green as they approached. Or the pavement users cross in front of the possibly moving cycle/scooter/mobility scooter/wheelchair traffic as they head to the pavement on the other side of this lane (right in the image).
