Okay, this is another breakdown of the end of Brooklands Avenue turning left into Trumpington Road.

No doubt this little clip will irritate some drivers as they might perceive it as "yet another example of cyclists just not following the rules". But it's not, everything done here is absolutely fine to do on a bike. In fact some of it helps drivers by getting me out of their way.

First, note that the path to the left is a shared path, so designated for bikes as well. I don't use it most of the time, it's far too small and rough to share effectively. However, it widens out at 8seconds and I move onto it there. I slow down as a corner can be awkward with pedestrians and other cyclists, nobody wants a collision.

Carefully round the corner, then the on road cycle path is almost immediately available. It's very important to check there isn't a driver not paying attention and entering the cycle lane. Then I pull out as all is clear.

This means I can pass the road lights and gets me out of the traffic that can accumulate at this corner.
