I've shown the failings in this path, at the end of Church Lane in Trumpington, several times.

Here's my approach to this area getting to the centre of Trumpington and Church Lane.

First, take special care of the cars that move to the Give Way side road and coming into the road. They may well pay no attention to a cyclist, whether you've passed the cycling Give Way line or not. Of course, if you're not over it, then ensure you give way as required. You see I make my way round the back of this car, paying attention that no-one is about to turn in. It's a classic example of a side road junction that ought to be considered for cyclepath priority.

Notice that the cyclepath does continue along this pavement, all the signs are there. It rapid narrows and a busstop acts as a good chicane. So, it's slow, slow, slow. In fact, looking at the below clip, shows that you might have to go very slow.

Still it's better than trying to cross the road and join in with traffic! The pavement continues to narrow and has some large drops to contend with.

A cyclist coming the other way decides to play "balance" along the side of the road (23 seconds). Not exactly safe, sensible, or anything short if plain idoicy.

Eventually I get to Church Lane. I prefer Church Lane than continuing along this pavement so take the cycle slip lane. I might have cut the corner (turn at 40 seconds) but didn't do it this time. You can see the cyclepath dropped kerb at either side of Church Road, showing it's still in place.
