New ASL's have been springing up all over town centre. Some are just a box without a leading cycle lane, however this one on the High St does have a cycle lane, on the inside of a left only turn.
Cycling down the inside here is not to be advised, and shouldn't be actively encouraged as is the case here. Besides possibly getting caught out and stuck on the inside of a bus or other vehicle when the lights change to green, waiting cars will often let out passengers at this point, with the chance of being struck by a car door swinging open into their path.
