This needed better thought around it's deployment. It is important to have people cycling slower than the local wide shared-use paths, and to keep them save from slipping. Likewise for people walking to be safe from slipping.
This really didn't work and hadn't been thought through, either at a planning stage or by the people who put the strips in.
