New crossing of B1102 near Anglesey Abbey. The refuge appears to be approximately 1.8 - 2 metres deep. Although this seems to be the same length as a typical bicycle, you would have to be extraordinarily confident to try and wait in this refuge while cars raced past you. My perception while using it is that my wheels were overhanging the edges and would be clipped by passing cars if I tried to wait.
