I really hoped that contractors had been told to destroy all these awful Cyclists Dismount signs, but no, here's another one. Unacceptable!

Advisory cycle lanes and double yellow lines at the south end of Histon Road

Advisory cycle lanes at the south end of Histon Road - but I do quite like the cycle symbols on the outside of the bus stop.

Histon Road cycleways built to the minimum width, and with no protection from close passing motor traffic. A short section of single-yellow will allow motor vehicles to park in this cycle lane.

An upstand high enough to allow a bike to be parked, at a turn into a side road, see #167163

The junction of Histon Road with Canterbury Street (and other side streets) has been designed with an upstand of 25mm, enough to throw a rider off their bike unless they turn sharply.

Histon Road

The current arrangement at the south end of Histon Road - only cycling allowed southbound. The sensors don't seem to be detecting bikes - there's a red light until someone activates the pedestrian crossing to the left.

Except Cycles plates needed, as usual

Segregated cycleway already in use on Histon Road

New arrangement of the Histon Road roadworks, with cars northbound only, to the right of the bollards, and cyclists to the left - but without a sign here.

Histon Road is now closed southbound except for cyclists - this is the rather messy arrangement at the southern end.

I think this means that pedestrians and cyclists are sharing the same space for about ten metres - but it shouldn't be necessary to dismount.

Cyclists Please Obey Traffic Signals - motor vehicles are still turning across Histon Road

Histon Road is now closed southbound - most (but not all) of the No Entry signs have Except Cycle signs in place.

Traffic flow has been reversed through the Histon Road roadworks. This gap is how cyclists are meant to rejoin the road network.

Some mistake surely? Northbound cycle lane, northbound general traffic lane, no southbound cycle lane.

Southbound cycle lane through the Histon Road roadworks - the yellow signs now say 'Reading this whilst driving a Motor Vehicle? You're driving ILLEGALLY the wrong way. CCTV in operation. You have been REPORTED'

The current state of the long-term roadworks on Histon Road - northbound traffic lane, southbound cycle lane

Histon Road works - 'except cycles' signs now attached to the Road Closed signs.

Road Closed (sign blown over) - I'm not sure this is part of the Histon Road roadworks.

Temporary arrangements at the south end of Histon Road and two contractor's vehicles largely blocking the contraflow cycle lane.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - as promised there is a contraflow (southbound) cycleway, but all the signs ignore the existence of cyclists.

Cycle parking at what is or was a guesthouse.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - this road sign wrongly shows that traffic can't turn in to Warwick Road or Gilbert Road.

Pothole on Histon Rd - the Covid-19 lockdown might be a good time to fix a few holes?

New accommodation for Lucy Cavendish College - it's really not far from town so why doesn't it have more obvious cycle parking (even if there is a bus stop right outside) ?

Deliberate obstruction - in the name of safety, of course.
