Cyclists Beware of Construction Traffic sign

Useful signs rather spoilt by the waiting truck

And suddenly with nothing changed (and no tactile paving fitted) the crossing that was unusable for at least 5 months seems to be open - see #193996

What on earth is going on here? Or rather not going on - this zebra crossing has been closed for about 5 months, maybe because some tactile paving is missing.

This new zebra crossing has been out of use for over a month now - it looks as if they forgot the tactile paving on this side (the far side is ok).

This new zebra crossing has been out of use for at least 20 days now - but of course people are crossing anyway.

Charging point for electric taxis on Station Road, Cambridge

There is briefly no walkway on either side of Station Road in Cambridge. Has anything been done to provide safe space for pedestrians on the carriageway? Nope.

Road works by Cambridge Water at the Station Road/Hills Road junction - luckily many people are working from home. It would be nice to think that the dreadful potholes will be properly fixed, but I'm not optimistic.

There have been some repairs to the disaster that is Station Road in Cambridge - it remains to be seen how well they last.

Advanced cycle lights have appeared at the Station Rd/Hills Road junction - with a surprisingly long period before the main light turns green.

Two or three holes on Station Road have been marked in yellow for repair - which is a total insult to all of us who have to tackle the road on anything less than a full-suspension mountain bike.

CYCLE LANE SUSPENDED AHEAD I can’t see it myself.

Reasonably well signed roadworks on Station Road, Cambridge

Optimistic sign saying that these new cycle stands are not for the use of rail travellers. I'm afraid that train has already departed...

The stands at the front of the building are finally in use, but not these ones on the side.

The new cycle parking on Station Road is finally in use and the 'security' guards have been sent elsewhere.

Dooring zone markings on the newly resurfaced Station Road, Cambridge - cyclists are entitled to keep well to the right.

Station Road has been fixed! with a short stretch of red cycle lane. Let's hope it lasts.

New cycle stands on Station Road, Cambridge, still not in use a month after they appeared.

The whole of Station Road is a disaster for cycling - but for some reason they've resurfaced the Tenison Road junction.

Privatisation of the pavement/footway - no concern for the crowds heading to and from the station.

More flooded potholes on Station Road, Cambridge, not marked up for repair...

Well, at least it's been marked up for repair, but I suppose it can't be done until it's dried out.

This pothole has got much worse in the last day or two (but the whole of Station Road is awful).

Station Road is falling apart (again)

Station Road is falling apart (again)

Station Road will be awful until redevelopment is finished (if ever), but this pothole does need fixing.

Ofo bike ticketed for not being left in an cycle official parking place at the station

Access to the station cycle parking closed off with no alternative route yet signposted - although there are marshalls ready to direct cyclists.

New poles (which will eventually indicate the new route to the station cycle parking) immediately used for a failed attempt at cycle parking.

The road is collapsing and will continue to do so until a) it's properly rebuilt and b) the Cambridge station area development is finished.

Given that this is about 200m from Cambridge station, why were Microsoft surprised that people wanted to lock their bikes here? - as the metalwork's only purpose is to protect the tree, it would have been far better to have designed it for … [more]

Lots of bikes outside the new Microsoft Research building on a Sunday - presumably all left by rail passengers.

Wasted chance to provide cycle facilities at the new Microsoft offices
