Oh dear! After getting it right yesterday (https://cambridge.cyclestreets.net/location/84024/), Toyota lorry driver is back to stopping illegally in the cyclelane to unload like two weeks ago (https://cambridge.cyclestreets.net/location/835 ... [more]

Much better than https://cambridge.cyclestreets.net/location/83577 where they'd illegally coned off the cyclelane.

See http://radwagon.blogspot.com/2016/08/pleasant-circular-route-round-cambridge.html for a video of riding around a pleasant little ride around Cambridge on good infra, not so good infra, and quiet roads. Just enjoy!

Illegally Coning Off Cyclelane at @ToyotaCambridge What I don't get with these modern developments is, with so much space, why didn't anyone think of delivery space?

Van blocking contraflow cycle lane on Bateman Street. A daily occurrence for much of the year - certainly this last week, and most summers from July to October. There are, of course, parking spaces marked and vacant just across the road, b ... [more]

Derelict Sheffield stands in the back yard of a block of flats on Discovery Way.

End of foot and cycleway - no, it is not. The correct sign wood by white pedestrians on blue background. At other similar locations the council uses the equally wrong and even more annoying "Cyclists Dismount", e.g. #48247. At least the Cou ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/C8nOmhjLqrs After the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bCxf9KgP8M clip, we've now moved onto this. Is Addenbrookes ripping out segregated route and replacing it with on road space? Or is this just a temporary m ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/HnOoYxlO0Eo Notice the way I wiggle at 3 seconds just as the truck is passing. I'm shocked at how close it is beside me (but out of shot). It looks like the driver is rushing to get past before the oncoming ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/v9L98BNv-FQ A slightly stupid and pointless close pass. The highway code is pretty clear that double overtaking is not acceptable in this space, given the vehicle should be off the other side of the road to do ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/FjWRzK6k46w I'm going around 24mph down the road and prepare to pass a stopped bus. Then I spot that it wants to pull out, so wave it out and pull in behind. I slow to around 20mph and prepare for the road ahe ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/dy6nSebwocY First of two force throughs today, neither of which distracted me from feeling utterly fantastic on a bike in sunny, leavy Cambridge! This is just failing to give way appropriately. Although I w ... [more]

See clip at http://youtu.be/BGr1W_z1Tpc Haven't done this in a while, too depressing. But this is a class example of bad impatient driving. I'm riding out of the gutter (the dotted cyclelane is under water a lot!) but in the bus lane. ... [more]

Illuminated Jesus Green by night.

At least the third attempt by Miller Homes to block people to cut through between "Manor" and Chesterton roughly the way people have been walking (and now cycling) across the (former) fields for at least the past 60 years.

Inconsiderate parking on the cycle way near a lamp post at double yellow line.

Cars coming out of the Grand Arcade car park have to give way to cyclists, and cars going in always insist on giving way too! Perhaps the Give Way lines should be swapped around?

New red-mac on the pavement on Chesterton Road (CB4 1AS), between Chesterton Hall Crescent and George Street. This has been used by generations of school children to reach a traffic light regulated crossing.

Four-way green light for cyclists as used in the Netherlands would be suitable for this crossing. Unfortunately at the Milton Rd with Union Lane / Arbury Rd junction the four-way traffic light phase is exclusive to "pedestrians". See video ... [more]
