Lots of signs about the one-way closure of East Road due to a sinkhole - totally ignoring the fact that the cycleway is open as usual. Sadly predictable.
Lots of signs about the one-way closure of East Road due to a sinkhole - totally ignoring the fact that the cycleway is open as usual. On the plus side, Gonville Place and Lensfield Road were virtually traffic-free in this direction, so … [more]
Pelican crossing wait timing currently skewed too heavily in favour of road traffic - even when road is empty - bikes and pedestrians crossing here usually give up waiting and risk crossing against traffic despite partially blind corner
This isn't just a footway (or footpath), it's an important cycle route to Coton, and I think it's been closed for over a month - it would have been helpful to have the diversion via the Madingley Road signed. [now 3 months!]
Remove the ratrunning through here. Particularly important if Coldhams Lane gets a filter south of the Railway Bridge
Add a crossing here to make it possible for children to access the play park safely. The complex crossing 50m up is difficult to navigate and the constant standing traffic and people routinely running red lights makes this a high risk area … [more]
Add a crossing to improve safety for children going to the school and playground on Vinery Road. Reduce speeding as the roads is unnecessarily dangerous, noisy and polluted
This Street needs a modal filter. Cars and delivery vans use it as a rat run between Victoria Road and Chesterton Road. Traffic speeds are frequently too high despite the 20mph speed limit. A filter in Carlyle Road will add to problems … [more]

Close half of the road to cars and open it to cyclists and pedestrians and buses. Newmarket Road is wide enough for contraflow car traffic, even at the bridge here.
Narrow road and traffic at a standstill on weekends and peak times. Incredibly dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians trying to cross, and pollution levels put local residents at risk. The road should be closed to vehicles except for … [more]

The safest place to ride in the streets of Romsey, Cambridge is the middle of the road. How about some road markings or modifications to encourage that, and to help reduce confrontational experiences with motor traffic?
Arbury Road should have a modal filter to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists and improve air quality.
Need for modal filter here to improve cyclist and pedestrian safety and reduce incidence of speeding vehicles outside school and long eastern stretch of very narrow road.
Inappropriate and unnecessary through road induces rat running. Close Akeman Street here east of junction with Darwin Drive.
Inappropriate and unnecessary through road induces rat running. Close Darwin Drive here north of junction with Akeman Street.
Corner is too narrow for buses to pass without overlapping narrow pavements and endangering pedestrians. Inner ring road should be fitted with bus gates and bus traffic moved out of the centre.
Inappropriate through-traffic is very problematic here. These back streets could be disconnected with a simple barrier SW to NE across this junction.
New Street is a taxi rat run and unnecessarily unpleasant for cyclists (and pedestrians) as a result. Through traffic to Coldham's Lane should be routed exclusively via Newmarket Rd.
This street would be a good candidate for a modal filter to prevent rat running from Chesterton to Victoria. Lots of people walk and cycle here and there’s still too much traffic to walk on the road.
Mill rd bridge should be for pedestrians and cycles only. The traffic and pollution is horrible and should be stopped.
Mill Rd is usually very busy with continuous traffic. The pollution is really bad in an area where lots of people live, work and walk around. Cycling is very scary as cars and lorries try to squeeze past pushing cyclists into the gutters. … [more]
Traffic backs up along Trumpington Road from Grand Arcade car park. Close Pembroke St to vehicular traffic (with limited exceptions). Reappropriate car park for cycle parking (may require surcharge due to loss of revenue)
Mill Road in unsafe for the pedestrians and cyclists to share the space with vehicles. Close Mill Road to vehicular traffic (with exceptions for deliveries within certain times and residents).
This narrowing should become a modal filter so that cars can no longer cut through from Histon Road to Huntingdon Road. Most of the car traffic on Oxford Road is rat running and preventing that would make it much safer for cycling.
Convert southern section of Mitcham’s Corner to two way traffic, make the north side a plaza for walking and cycling. Delivery vehicles permitted at certain times to serve the Co-op and Portland Arms.
This road is narrow and busy and crossing between shops pubs and colleges is dangerous. Buses destroy the road. Close except for access.
Narrow dead end street with a primary school at the end. Delivery lorries, school run traffic, child pedestrians and cyclists are vying for space.
We need to get rid of a lot of the traffic on Coldhams Lane because it is too dangerous to cycle along. We need a model filtering system to only allow buses, cyclists, residents through.
The current barriers here are brilliant at stopping through-traffic, but they are nowadays too small for the number of people walking and cycling through them. Could this be replaced with a simpler bollard? Seating and plants could also be … [more]
There really doesn't need to be through-traffic here. This is basically a rat-run, with the car parking narrowing the street.
As a business owner with such narrow Pavements the only solution is to close this to through traffic. There are pubs and ice cream shops already open and you are hard pressed to social distance. It’s very simple (as we saw earlier this year … [more]
Used as a dangerous cut through for vehicles all day and night. Make it a no-through road with a dedicated cycle path to create a safer route for cyclists avoiding the Hills Road/Long Road junction
Most traffic on this road (90%?) is through traffic. It's a residential road by the park, and an important cycle route through to the Biomedical Campus and beyond at one end and St Emmas primary school the other way. Removing through … [more]
Create a one-way route along Hawkins Road to reduce traffic, especially for cyclists and pedestrians accessing The Grove, North Cambridge Academy and those travelling through from Milton Road area.
A bus gate on the High Street here, combined with a closure to Motor Traffic on Union Lane, would split Chesterton into two for motor traffic without taking away access. It would force through traffic to go via Milton Road. This would … [more]
If Chapel Street were to be closed to motor traffic here, and union Lane too opposite, then a parallel crossing could be created between them routing cyclists off of the footways here, making life better for all
Drivers accelerate hard along Union Lane, and the parking makes this important cycle route unpleasant because of the drivers. A closure to motor traffic at Milton Road would help with simplifying the junction here and ep make Union Lane a … [more]
Scotland Road/Chesterton High Street is used as a racetrack by drivers and motor bike riders. A closure here, one at the other end of Union Lane, and a bus gate on the High Street, would help make the streets safer and quieter.
Critical access link to the Biomedical Campus. Road needs to have all on-street parking removed to make space for bikes & pedestrians. Northern pavement needs widening & levelling. Ongoing parking enforcement will be required.
Regent Terrace should be double-yellow lined throughout, save some bays at the Gonville Place end for residents parking. This should be a clearway for walking and cycling, not a free alternative to the QA Terrace car park.
Filter here could create nicer residential area and reduce pressure on narrow pavements if people need to walk in the road to distance.
Narrow pavements, plus road narrowed by parked cars makes it hard to safely distance. Adding a temporary filter would reduce rat-running traffic making it open to access only.
Signs for temporary closure of Regent Terrace for building work when approaching from the city centre
Uneven ground where temporary footpath rejoins Regent Terrace just north of closure due to building works.

I returned to Cambridge after five weeks abroad and the Sheep Green bridge is STILL closed! Would this happen for a road project?

Pointless attempt to (in theory) turn all traffic around because of work on water pipes on Sidney St. Exemption for bikes needed.
