Some mistake surely? Northbound cycle lane, northbound general traffic lane, no southbound cycle lane.

Abbey-Chesterton Bridge - airborne

'Cycleway Suspended' sign due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights - it looks well enough organised here, but there was a queue of cars all around the Waitrose car park where the lights were only letting a few cars out at a time.

On the plus side they haven't put a 'Cyclists Dismount' sign here, which is to be commended. On the downside, we have lots of signs on the pavement. We need a LTN/change in the law.

Construction at Cambridge University Library - the sign at the other end only refers to pedestrians, not cyclists.

Road Closed for sinkhole repairs - but of course (on Sunday morning) pedestrians and cyclists are actually passing freely.

Road Closed (sign blown over) - I'm not sure this is part of the Histon Road roadworks.

Temporary arrangements at the south end of Histon Road and two contractor's vehicles largely blocking the contraflow cycle lane.

Work on the Coton path. Shouldn't close the path and clear through the West Cambridge site. It's sewer works. Great job for a hot day!

The works have started on the Mill Road bridge bus gate.

You might think that this was a post-Covid19 pop-up cycle lane, but no, this is Cambridge, it's just for some inactive work on the footway outside Aldi.

Good that they mentioned the cycle lane!

More lockdown roadworks around the corner on Market Square - but cyclists going straight ahead are supposed to stop too.

Again! roadworks at the Mill Road/Gwydir St junction.

Chisholm Trail bridge construction during lockdown, there were a few workers here today.

Just a brief interruption in fact, where the temporary traffic lights are placed. There are a lot of road works under way during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Conventional footways by the look of it at this new access to the West Cambridge site - no cycle provision.

Gas works on Newnham Road during the Covid-19 lockdown - virtually no motor traffic to be held up.

Lots of roadworks going on during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Gas works on Newnham Road - the Covid-19 lockdown makes this a pretty stressfree time to block the road.

Reasonably well signed roadworks on Station Road, Cambridge

Mill Road bridge may be open again, but the gas work continues. If the delivery van wasn't there bikes would only have to be wheeled a short distance.

Chisholm Trail route under construction between Newmarket Road and Ditton Meadows.

Ditton Meadows - this route is closed for construction of the bridge.

This route across the railway footbridge remains open, but is briefly closed to allow heavy plant and other construction vehicles to cross.

Photo taken thru the Heras fencing - the jetty surface and railing have been removed.

Jetty route now closed.

Last few days of this jetty.

Early work on the Chisholm Trail.

Having rebuilt the first half of the path to Chaucer Road, the contractors are now working on the other half.

Chisholm Trail construction site.

It's hard to see how it can possibly take four weeks to resurface this cut-through.

The abandoned cycleway project seems to be growing a nice layer of grass. At least no-one is parking on this side now.

Emergency gas roadworks closing one lane but maintaining full access to the cycle track.

This may be a new segregated link.

No Overtaking Cyclists past these roadworks - which were cleared away by 1.30pm on a Friday.

Access maintained for pedestrians, and thus wheeling bikes on the gravel.

You can, no doubt, spot the other reason this sign has been used incorrectly.

Checking the Roadworks website, the whole of Bridge Street will be closed to repair the road surface. (Hooray!) Edit to add: The repair didn’t happen. Odd.

Somebody didn't use a spell checker... (Also, sign for info.) Edit to add: Spelling now corrected and the date changed to 29th Oct.

Road works to build bad new scheme for Addenbrooke's roundabout can't be bothered to provide safe crossings for people walking.

Cycle lane closed and used for pedestrians while new crossing lights are installed.

It looks like the section that will be closed is from here to the side gate into Trinity College (and the library.) That's where the other sign is.

Well, well... the morning after I posted #89287 asking where the north-south cycle route was, a section of kerb was being removed to instal a dropped kerb (presumably).

There's been some patching at the top of Grantchester St - I doubt if it'll last long.

Pemberton Terrace has had some patching-up - but nearby Coronation Street, which is in far worse shape, has not been touched.

Construction of cycle crossing to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Cycle Lane Closed for construction of decent cycle access to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Taking shape - the new cycleway past Cambridge Botanic Gardens on Trumpington Road.

Unimpressed by this. It's two lanes either way as Anglian Water continue their work, but I can’t help feeling there must be a better way of organising this. It isn't clear what pedestrians are supposed to do coming from the Hills Road end ... [more]

Cycle path under construction past the site of the Penny Ferry pub

Good practice to keep the foot/cycleway open.

Very poor restoration of the road surface after utilities work.

In its own way, rather beautiful. A temporary four way crossing control point (because of road works happening nearby) with provision for those on bikes.

Poor quality road reinstatement
