Cambridge Assessment has good cycle parking, but they are obsessed with making cyclists dismount and segregating them from people without bikes.

Lost 🐈‍⬛ Have you seen it? £300 for the painting!

After how many months? - still no indication that Mill Road bridge is open, except to motor vehicles.

Another Cyclists Rejoin Carriageway sign - but the shared-use path definitely continues for a while around the corner to the left.

Cyclists Rejoin Carriageway sign approaching the new Robin Hood junction - a cycle symbol and arrow on the ground would help.

No Cycling sign, and no dropped kerb - but there's nothing at the far end to say cycling isn't allowed.

The pram handles have gone, and now there's a DIY No Motorcycles sign.

I don't know what the shared-use sign refers to - the red route should really be cycles only and in the other direction.

Anglia Ruskin University cycle cull notice

The blue and white contraflow sign is the wrong way round, and Except Cycles plates are needed on the red and white signs. Hardly the first time they've got it wrong on Histon Road.

Problems with the school run, I suspect.

One sign with an Except Cycles plate, one without - and a car parked but leaving the (temporarily) contraflow cycle lane open.

More confusion - the yellow and black signs are correct, the road is currently northbound only for motor vehicles, so the blue and white sign is the wrong way round.

What cyclists? Northbound cyclists will be on the other side of the road.

A letter to Newnham residents from the Lib Den councillors - the petition against removing car parking at the start of Grantchester Meadows will be considered by the county council, so there will be no changes before 27 July.

Notice of the county council's plans to close the car parking at the north end of Grantchester Meadows, and a petition against it.

Information on the Aurrigo autonomous vehicle trails on the West Cambridge site

Dismount and Use Footway ... Footpath Closed.... contradictory signs, in fact the only option really is to cross to the footway and cycleway across the road.

Cambridgeshire highways department strikes again! The road is closed to motor vehicles in this direction anyway. And the contraflow cycle lane has been kept open through the roadworks. So these signs are nonsense and can be ignored.

Presumably this refers only to motor vehicles - this is the route to the St Edmund's College cycle sheds.

I really hoped that contractors had been told to destroy all these awful Cyclists Dismount signs, but no, here's another one. Unacceptable!

First in Milton Keynes (#96095), now in West Cambridge - autonomous vehicles on the footways. www.cambridgeindependent.co.uk/news/autonomous-vehicle-trials-under-way-in-cambridge-9199287/

Over-cautious attitude - how fast can those cars being going in the car park?

Obviously there's a cycleway to the left, but it would be good to have an Except Cycles plate under the No Through Road sign.

It would be good to have a contraflow cycleway, or failing that, some indication that the multi-storey car park is in the middle of a one-way circuit.

Plaque on the 'CTC bench' - The Cyclists Touring Club Cambridge have met here since 11 May 1921 - just a couple of weeks until their centenary !

Closed for motor vehicles - but Cambridgeshire highways department can't understand the distinction.

Access to college boathouses (and cycle parking) - the sign asks cyclists to dismount to avoid dislodging the new stones.

Except Cycles plates needed, as usual

Except Cycles plates needed, as usual

Two End of Cycleway signs - though there's no difference between the footways north and south of Metcalfe Road.

Cambridgeshire Highways just will not understand that a modal filter is not a road closure - Except Cycles plates needed here.

Cyclists Dismounts sign at temporary access arrangements and path - but cycling isn't allowed here anyway.

The newly reversed cycle contraflow is marked on the carriageway but not yet on the signs.

The city council has accepted that they need to point out that Mill Road businesses are open, but not that the road is open except to motor vehicles (other than buses).

I think this means that pedestrians and cyclists are sharing the same space for about ten metres - but it shouldn't be necessary to dismount.

Cyclists Please Obey Traffic Signals - motor vehicles are still turning across Histon Road

New cycle contraflow sign following the installation of a modal filter on Panton St.

Nonsense! It's a through route for cycles (and why is there a 50-metre gap in the shared-use provision here?)

A full red light northbound, just the normal red man southbound - if it was deliberate, it would presumably mean that cyclists could cross on red southbound, but not northbound.

A post marking the location of Trinity College Conduit an historic method of providing fresh water to colleges.

A sign outside a large house on Madingley Road pleads for bike lanes.

At least one sign now accepts that a modal filter on Panton St isn't a closure to all vehicles.

The width restriction has been changed to a No Motor Vehicles restriction.

The usual rubbish from Cambridgeshire Highways - the whole point of a modal filter, by definition, is that the road is not totally closed, only to motor vehicles.

This sign does not appear to be associated with any works and no similar signs are encountered when approaching from the opposite direction.

Panton Street, Cambridge Conflicting signage: one way arrows and a sign that shows contraflow cycling.

Hurray signage that is for pedestrians and cyclists 👏 And the wasp bike man on patrol with his white noise radio.

Presumably due to the modal filter on Panton St, Norwich St will reverse direction on 20/1/21.

An upside-down sign which says No Dogs. It previously was an unofficial-looking 20mph sign, see #107294. It has been like this for several months. I think that the glue that was holding the 20mph over-sign in place has given up reveal ... [more]

Biden my path! - Panton Street opens to two way cycling on #inaugaurationday hurray! The sign has 'trail' rather than 'trial'.

Beware of other road users! Extraordinary sign.

Of course, the road was only closed to motor vehicles.

Poster backing the changes to Mill Road bridge.

Only for cars - an Except Pedestrians and Cycles sign would be useful on this route to Waitrose

The usual nonsense - the signs refer to motor vehicles only.

Misguided sign

Great work - putting 20mph signs where they're always obscured by parked cars.

No idea what this sign is about

Southbound cycle lane through the Histon Road roadworks - the yellow signs now say 'Reading this whilst driving a Motor Vehicle? You're driving ILLEGALLY the wrong way. CCTV in operation. You have been REPORTED'

Cambridge Retail Park Advisory sign suggests that cyclists stick to that narrow lane. "Cyclists use cycle lane only" and there's a 5 mph sign.

The Silver Street bus gate is now operational full time in both directions - so Cambridgeshire County Council has closed the left-turn lane on Queen's Road. So cyclists (who are allowed to turn left) are forced into what is now a single nar ... [more]

The green sign does give a positive 'Road Open' message.

Here we go again... the point of the modal filter is that Bateman St is not closed, it is very much open except at one point to motor vehicles - but Cambridgeshire's highways department can't be expected to grasp that.

Right turns into Devonshire Road permitted, as a result of the bridge change - the old sign was removed.

Cyclists Beware DO NOT UNDERTAKE Sign that tries to place the responsibility for the turning lorries on the cyclists.

A badly placed sign put in the middle of the footway where it will be an obstruction to pedestrians. It could easily have been put against the low wall on the left edge. Reported at: https://highwaysreporting.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/?id=0 ... [more]

A routinely ignored No access sign.

Bus lane warning sign at the left edge of the footway.

Correct signage to use when a cycle lane needs to be closed for utility works

The new 'Dutch-style' Fendon Road roundabout - the yellow-and-black sign should say clearly 'Drivers Give Way etc' and not be off to the left of the cycle and pedestrian sections.

Approaching the new 'Dutch-style' Fendon Road roundabout.

I assume this refers only to cyclists wanting to cross to Brooklands Avenue - there's no reason not to continue riding on the shared-use to the right.

No left turn except cycles at the junction with Mill Road at the foot of the bridge.

Mill Road bridge

Maybe every narrow cycle route should warn of “constriction”!

Mill Road bridge

Mill Road bridge, ironic poster: I WANNA DRIVE MAH BRUM BRUM and there's a picture of a crying infant with text: Pedestrian safety? Don't care Environment? Don't care Cyclist safety? Don't care Kids' safety? Don't care Cafes ... [more]

No Overtaking Cyclists Through Works sign - good. Van stopped just before the temporary lights - less good.

Histon Road works - 'except cycles' signs now attached to the Road Closed signs.

After a week, the contraflow cycle lane through the Histon Road roadworks is still marked as Road Closed. Why does the county council always fail to take cycling seriously?

Road Closed for sinkhole repairs - but of course (on Sunday morning) pedestrians and cyclists are actually passing freely.

A new path has been added and the sign has been moved aside, but it still seems odd - if there is a problem, why not paint Give Way markings for road traffic?

Awful signage - the street is open. Need to make clear that businesses are open.

Awful signage - the street is open. Need to make clear that businesses are open.

The usual Road Closed sign - and indeed the footway to the left is closed, but access has been provided to the right for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

The usual Road Closed sign - but provision has been made for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - as promised there is a contraflow (southbound) cycleway, but all the signs ignore the existence of cyclists.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - as promised there is a contraflow (southbound) cycleway, but all the signs ignore the existence of cyclists.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - this road sign wrongly shows that traffic can't turn in to Warwick Road or Gilbert Road.

There will be roadworks on Histon Road for the next year - as promised there is a contraflow (southbound) cycleway, but all the signs ignore the existence of cyclists.

No Parking - do not block the access from this new development to Midsummer Common
